How to Present in BusinessHow to Engage a Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic or Auditory Digital Learning Style within Others

Many times arguments, tension and conflict are not differences of opinion but differences in the style or mode of communication people use.

How often have you experienced a conflict with someone only to find out that in the end you were both thinking the same thing and there were really more similarities than differences in your opinion? Have you ever experienced talking to someone with the feeling that it is like they are speaking a different language?

Example:

 Imagine you are trying to explain a business idea to your client. You say “Can you see my point of view?” and he says “No, I can’t grasp the concept”.In this example, you are talking “visual” language while he is talking “kinesthetic” language. You need learn the skill of talking his language.

 When we learn to be flexible enough to speak in and act out a variety of communication modes, we find that it impacts on the effectiveness of our relationships with other people.

The 4 communication and learning modes come from the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). They provide us insight towards how effectively people communicate with each other and whether they are speaking on the “same wavelength” as us.

In essence, the 4 learning modes are:

V Visual people see eye to eye
A Auditory people click well together
K Kinesthetic people feel connected
aD Auditory Digital people consider thoughtfulness and being sensible
